UzAgroStar — Packaging Design for Fruit and Vegetable Export
Export packaging design was developed for UzAgroStar. The cultural code (arches with Sherdor/Simurg symbols) and the "parcel" metaphor (stamps, Hand Picked) transform the product into a national brand, increasing its value on the global market.
1. Introduction
By Presidential decree, the holding UzAgroStar was established. Its mission is to bring Uzbekistan’s agricultural products to the global market — not as raw materials, but as finished goods with added value. At the core lies a strategic shift: from raw supplier to creator of national brands with strong export potential.
To achieve this, UzAgroStar turned to us to develop packaging design — not just as a shell, but as a system capable of elevating Uzbek products to a new level.
2. Insight
When studying how foreigners perceive Uzbekistan, one image appeared most often — arches. They became a visual symbol of the country, yet arches alone are too universal, found across Asia. We enriched them with unique Uzbek codes: the lion from Sher-Dor Madrasah and the Simurgh bird from Nadir Devanbegi Madrasah. These details instantly make the imagery authentic and unmistakably “Uzbek.”
3. Design Concept
We chose the metaphor of postage. Each package is like a parcel from Uzbekistan, sent out into the world. Stamps, handwritten marks, and the label “Hand Picked” create a sense of authenticity. The packaging becomes a guide — carrying not only the product, but also the culture of Uzbekistan across the globe.
This is more than just graphics. It is a system that transforms products into a national brand: recognizable at home, competitive abroad.
Why It Matters
- From raw to brand — a transformation from bulk supplier to value-added products.
- Unique code — the arch, combined with national symbols, forms a visual identity rooted in cultural DNA.
- Emotional metaphor — packaging as a postage stamp: a simple yet powerful idea that unites export and culture.
Postmarked by Nature, Signed by Uzbekistan — each package becomes a letter, just beginning its journey into the world…
