Morella: Premium Ice Cream Packaging Design
An appetizing packaging design was developed for Morella ice cream with 3D models (coconut, vanilla, almond). The design creates an "instant appetite effect," contributing to sales growth and the brand's entry into the Uzbekistan market.
1. Task
According to statistics, about 80% of people perceive information visually. This is especially true when it comes to food, particularly ice cream. Customers enjoy examining packaging, paying attention to small details, comparing products, and only then deciding to purchase.
The Morella brand was already well-known among ice cream enthusiasts in Tashkent. However, the company decided it was time to expand to the entire Uzbek market.
Our goal was to develop captivating packaging designs for two new products: coconut ice cream in white chocolate with almonds and vanilla ice cream in milk chocolate with almonds. We aimed to create packaging that would tempt customers to taste the product even before taking their first bite.
2. Research
We studied consumer behavior and found:
Consumers typically make ice cream purchase decisions within 3–5 seconds—packaging must trigger an “instant appetite effect.”
The strongest emotional responses are driven by chocolate textures, visible nut pieces, and vivid signals of naturalness and freshness.
3. Solution
We created packaging that literally "sells itself":
Realistic 3D models of ice cream, showcasing delicious textures of chocolate and almonds.
Different backgrounds for easy flavor differentiation: light tones for coconut and warm beige for milk chocolate.
Natural details—almonds, pieces of chocolate, and coconut—to enhance the product’s authenticity.
A cohesive logo and typography style, providing a premium and integrated look.
Result
The new products were enthusiastically embraced by the market. The packaging acted as a powerful emotional trigger, causing sales to grow exponentially.
Morella’s branding now appears more sophisticated and attractive. Thanks to high-quality 3D visualizations, the brand confidently stands out both on retail shelves and in advertising.
